Vote For Chris Christopher

My Bio

Working in agronomic and landscape management gave me a direct, hands-on understanding of our county’s soil and water challenges. That practical experience drove me to study local conservation infrastructure and step up to serve. My objective is to bridge the gap between technical resource management and the public, utilizing data-driven oversight to protect our natural resources and support our local agricultural community through non-partisan, accountable governance.

My Key Issues

Drought Resilience & Water Management

When the drought hit Cumberland County this year, I watched people's lawns turn to dust and local farmers struggle just to keep their livelihoods afloat against soaring water costs. It breaks my heart to see neighbors forced to choose between the cost of living and the basic health of their land. That pain is entirely avoidable, and I refuse to let us stand by unprepared when the next dry spell hits. My priority is to bring relief, cutting-edge water technology, and genuine protection to every family and farmer in this county before the ground dries out again.

Public Awareness & Accessibility

Most people don't know the Soil and Water Board exists until their property is flooding or their wells are running dry, and that’s a problem we are going to fix. Instead of expecting busy families to hunt down board meetings on a Thursday morning, we’re taking the office directly to where our community already gathers: the county fair, the Dogwood Festival, and local markets. We’re turning conservation into an open, face-to-face conversation so every resident knows exactly how this board protects their land, their water, and their wallet.

Student & Youth Engagement

We are pairing the wisdom and experience of our long-time landowners with the fresh energy of local agricultural students. By bringing young minds directly into our county's conservation projects, we create a hands-on mentoring pipeline that honors the traditions of those who built this land while giving the next generation the tools to protect its future. It's about securing a thriving, sustainable Cumberland County for our kids, guided by the experience of the folks who know this soil best.
